I am a self-taught artist from Bristol UK.

Although I always loved drawing as a child and achieved good grades in Art at school, I did not take it further to Art College and just kept it as a hobby.

In the early 90's I began to focus on portrait drawing and entered a competition in a local village, submitting a portrait of Clark Gable I won 1st prize which lead to an article in a local paper so from that point I spent quite a few years perfecting my pencil work skills focussing on modern day idols. In 2011 I was asked by the production company of UK Eurovision winners Bucks Fizz to design the cover of their 30th Anniversary album.

In 2014 I began painting using oils on wood and submitted a painting to the Sky Portrait Artist of the year where I was chosen from over 1400 applicants to appear as a finalist on the show. Painting the comedy actress Ronni Ancona in a 4 hour time slot was quite a task but it was an amazing experience and gave me confidence in my work. My self portrait was chosen to appear in the publication 'A Little Book of Portraits' that accompanied the first 2 series.​

I also got through to the third series of Sky Portrait Artist of the year where my celebrity sitter was Dame Sian Phillips and although I felt a bit more comfortable this time around it was still a challenge to produce a finished piece in 4 hours. Dame Sian Phillips did choose my painting to keep and I was shortlisted to the final 3 Artists. My Painting along with my Portrait entry went on to appear in the Winners exhibition at the Wallace Collection after the show was aired in 2017.​

Having my work included in 2 London exhibitions and winning First Prize in the ’50 Shades of Red’ competition with my painting ‘The Seven Virtues of Bushido’ has rocketed my passion for ART and although I have been working full time in a call centre for the past 15 years I am really excited to be holding my First Ever Solo Exhibition from 9th-13th July 2022 in Bristol where I will be showing 16 brand new Paintings based on ‘Film Titles’ and hoping to launch a full time career as an Artist.
